On a weekend where Pro Elite started a brand new chapter, we had so much fun! Our first ever sessions held at our Cheshunt franchise went amazingly. We welcomed over 50 new faces into the Pro Elite family and we loved every second of it! Our new Cheshunt venue, St. Mary’s hosted the first ever Pro Elite franchise sessions and was bursting with fun the entire time. We are so excited to have started this new journey and we couldn’t be happier with how it has begun! We got up to so much this weekend and wanted to tell you all about it.
Indoor Sessions
In our two youngest classes, 18 months – 3, and 3 – 5 years old, we focused on agility, co-ordination and balance. We worked on this by making our superstars navigate through an obstacle course where there were many changes of direction and a wide range of movements. After this we then moved onto focusing on “little kicks”. We believe that dribbling is one of the most vital things for our little superstars to learn, as it will improve them massively whilst also giving them much more confidence. We see improvement each week with their dribbling which naturally improves their confidence, which we love seeing in all out superstars.
In our 5 – 7 year old sessions the main focus this week was skills. We wanted to improve our kick-ups and also focus on a difficult skill called the “Zidane” turn. Doing kick-ups will improve each child’s fundamental football skills. They help to teach children how to strike the football cleanly, how to control the power of each strike and helps their overall ball control. Whilst the Zidane turn is very effective when in match scenarios. We pride ourselves on elite coaching to ensure each child can learn new things each week to improve.
Development Sessions
This week’s development sessions focused on 1v1’s. Our development sessions which are for 7-11 year olds, had a heavy focus on attacking and defending in 1v1 scenarios, as they arise so often in matches, which in our development sessions, we are preparing our superstars for. We wanted to ensure each child could deal with 1v1’s both attacking and defending, this allows them to have confidence in themselves when they are faced with these situations.
