Orange Conference U7/U8
Pro Elite Lakers 4 – 3 Pro Elite Blazers (Game Of The Weekend)
The first fixture of our Internal League saw Coach Cem and Coach Tee go head to head in a clash that promised to have lots of goals and it didn’t dissapoint.
Two quick-fire goals from Raphael T put Coach Cem’s Lakers 2-0 up, before Jayden pulled two back in a crazy first half. Coach Cem’s Lakers were pressing well, with Coach Tee’s Blazers going 1v1 and having success through Tyler-Jay and Jayden, with Romeo and Belle battling hard at the back. Rayyan was at his best, flying into crunching tackles and putting his body on the line whenever the Blazers came forward and the first half ended 2-2.
The message was loud and clear at the break: keep going 1v1, but get your eyes up to release to your teammate when they are in dangerous positions.
The second half started as quickly and as ferociously as the first half, with Parker getting on to a loose ball and firing past Theo to make it 3-2 to the Lakers. The Blazers came firing back, Kadyn skipping past his man and getting brought down just inside the oppositions half. Up steps Jayden, who else, to fire the Blazers level with a peach of a free-kick.
Just as it looked as if the game would be finishing 3-3, Parker found himself some space on the right hand side and scored to make it 4-3, giving the Lakers their first 3 points of the campaign.
Pro Elite Jets 2 – 5 Pro Elite Rockets
An action packed game full of quality between Coach Tylers Jets and Coach Kierans Rockets, saw the Rockets run away with a 5-2 victory. Goals from Harry, Kerim and Jacob were enough to see off the Jets who scored through Nathan and Taylor.
Blue Conference U7/U8
Pro Elite Magic 1 – 7 Pro Elite Hawks
The Pro Elite Hawks got off to a flying start to the campaign, scoring 7 with goals from Alessio, Grayson, Parker and Lorik. The Magic managed to score through an own goal, but there will be lots of positives to take from the game, including some great 1v1 moments and some fine combination play.
Pro Elite Wizards 2 – 5 Pro Elite Thunder
Goals from Arbi, Jacob K, Sebastian J and Dylan M-M were enough to see off a brave Wizards side who scored 2 goals through Zion. The game was frantic and it could have gone either way, but the Thunder were much more clinical and took their chances well. Enough positives for the Wizards to take into Sunday and the Thunder will hope to carry this momentum on.
7-A-Side Conference U9/U10
Pro Elite Raptors 1 – 5 Pro Elite Grizzlies
The first game of the 7-a-side Internal League saw Mem and Markel go head to head, both leading their sides on the day. 2 goals from Markel and Losene plus a fine finish from Emir-Ali were enough to see off the Raptors who pulled one back through Mehmet inside the first half. In the end, the Raptors will understand what they will need to work on moving on to Sunday but will be happy with the effort they put in. The Grizzlies will want to continue where they left off, going 1v1 and combining to find their teammates in the final third. A special shoutout to Harry K who kept the score at 2-1 at half-time with some fantastic saves.
Pro Elite Rams 1 – 6 Pro Elite Ravens
Four goals from our player of the weekend Ben, plus goals from Ektoras and Diyar were enough for the Ravens to start the season flying high. Tristan pulled a goal back just before the break with a fine turn and finish, but the Rams were very strong and showed their class, creating 1v1 situations for their flair players.
You can see one of Bens goals here:
Pro Elite Mavericks 2 – 4 Pro Elite Raiders
Goals from Veer and Oliver were not enough for the Mavericks as they fell short to the Raiders, who scored through Ethan’s hattrick hero performance and a fine solo goal from Zayd. The pick of the bunch was Ethans goal direct from a freekick!
