This weekend was packed full of amazing moments from our youngest age group to our oldest! Not only did we have every venue open but we had sessions for our internal league and our Elite teams all played matches in their league.
Also, Coach Tee and Yahye took a group of superstars to play in a tournament at Cardiff FC’s training ground! Each superstar made everyone at Pro Elite proud and played some fantastic football. One of our superstars even got player of the tournament playing a year up! Check out how they got on and what superstar got player of the tournament playing a year up here!
Indoor sessions
This weekend at our indoor sessions we had so much fun, from learning their first little kicks to scoring hat-tricks! At our sessions, the focus this weekend was teamwork. In all of our age groups we were learning to work together in order to improve and have fun! We think it is a very important thing as teamwork is essential in all aspects of life not only football. It is a great skill to learn from a young age. We always want to instil our superstars with these essential skills to use in everyday life, alongside having so much fun at our football sessions!
Alongside this, at the end of every session, we ensure that each child has an opportunity to score a goal. This is one of the most rewarding aspects of football and gives our superstars the most joy. With the different classes, as they get older it becomes more competitive. Our youngest superstars the aim is just to get them to score whilst learning different movements. As they move into the 3-5 classes, we make it 1v1s so that they can learn how to compete against each other. In our oldest indoor sessions, we have small-sided matches that allow the children to show off their abilities and get ready for the next stages to move into our teams!
Moment of the week
During our indoor sessions, there are so many amazing moments that happen throughout a session we thought why not record the whole session and clip great moments! That is exactly what we did and we captured some very cute moments! Check out how we inspire and empower our superstars by being the best role models possible here!
Development Centre
At our development centres, we want to ensure each child that comes improves each week in order to eventually compete in one of our teams! We teach our superstars to learn to love the football, and to learn to compete. If each superstar that comes does both of these things, they will grow and improve as a footballer.
This week at our Development sessions the main focus was to improve competitiveness. For each drill we had we wanted to keep the energy and competitiveness high among the children as we know football is an extremely competitive sport. Both our activities leading up to our matches were points based which naturally increased how much each child wanted to win. It was great to see how much each child competed and wanted to be the eventual points-based winner. Instilling a competitive nature which they then took into the matches!
Internal League
This weekend is the final weekend of pre-season before the race for the Super Bowl kicks off! Our Internal League is almost back and we cannot wait for the competition to begin! Last season every game was bursting full of goals, saves, tackles and so much more. As it is the final week of pre-season, our superstars will be having match practice to ensure they are ready a raring to go for the 23/24 season! It is going to be a good one for sure!
Make sure you have all of your Pro Elite merch for the start of the season… Check out our merch here, especially our brand-new hats!
Elite Teams
Another amazing week for our Elite Teams! In game week 2 of the season, we won 4 out of our 7 games and drew one which is not a bad return for only our second week playing in an external league!
Game Of The Week!
Pro Elite U10 Orange 4-4 New Salamis U10
This could be the best comeback we have ever seen in football! On Sunday Coach Abdi’s U10s played an away game against New Salamis and it didn’t get off to the best of starts… We went into halftime 4-0 down but no Pro Elite team ever gives up. As soon as the whistle for the second half blew, we were unbelievable! We then went into the last 5 minutes 4-3 down but we had so many chances… In the very last second, up steps Josiah to score with the last lick of the game to make it 4-4!
It showed incredible character and fight from each of the players to not be disheartened by the 4-0 deficit. Coach Abdi was incredibly proud of the players for the second-half performance which really showed their quality as a team. They all got a well-deserved ice cream afterwards as a team. They know they need to improve their first-half performance but it shows true character to come back from 4-0 down!
It was a fantastic week full of football and we are ready for another weekend bursting full of football and fun. We cannot wait to see so many of our Pro Elite family!
